About Landmates... (and other strange vehicles)

What is exactly the benefit of rigging a vehicle? I mean, other than
give the control pool and additional dice to the rigger?

Bye, Paolo

Exactly. Do that to a suit of powered armor and you've got a vehicle that
can carry more armor and firepower than a street samurai and still go
almost everywhere the sammi can.

The standard caveat of course applies 'almost.'
I have never succesfully negotiated one of those things past a corp guard...
:) (Now a corp guard *corpse* yes... but only as a diversion)
they are great for diversions, firepower and other customary rigger things,
but still cant sneak worth a damn and certainly cant disguise themselves. My
group uses me as damage control: I come in with a pair of drones and the suit
to get them out if they screw the run up. That and I double as the decker, so
I usually get to do _something_ throughout the run.

Btw, I flipped throught Fields of Fire at a book store today (no money or I
would have bought it) and noticed under the comments for the Military class
armor people making the comments that strength boosted and *flying* versions
were being researched... I *knew* they were going to come out sooner or later
:)

Actually, depends on the LM type. Most LM are 2 to 3 meters tall and mass
upweards of a half-ton. But Appleseed Book 2 features an OP using an "orc"
suit which is small (man-sized), soundproofed, etc., designed for
clandestine ops. Of course it doesn't have the firepower that a full-sized
LM, nor the armor.
