I have been looking at the Laser Axe from SSC, and have a question. I only vv
have the SRI version of the book, so if it's been answered there, just post it
up to me. Now, the question:

How should you run Impact armor against this weapon?

I have no problem with the (Str)S damage code, or the fact that if you hit
something/somebody too hard with it, the laser goes out of calibration and you
get to swing around a +2 Reach club, but shouldn't the laser be able to cut
through armor much more easily than your standard combat axe?

What I was thinking of was making the target resist against it with 1/2 or 2/3
of his Impact rating to reflect the laser. Really, right now, as far as I know, all you
get for the extra 2750 nuyen is the bragging rights of owning a laser
axe. Nothing else.

Just like you do against every other weapon.

The Centurion Laser Axe only has a reach of +1. The laser causes it to do the
same (STR)S damage as the longer Combat Axe.

No, you get a dangerous Reach +1 axe, with a laser in it.
