Pretty much already has one built in. You could have the Mp have a
'two stage ' trigger. A light pull [or selected impulse from a
smartlink] could activate a very low intensity beam [1% or possibly
lower] from the laser, which can be used to sight along.
A full pull [or another command thru the smartlink] would up the
lazed light output to 100%, smacking the target, along the LOS.
IMHO, if you're really smart, you'd get a laser with an output in
the infrared or ultraviolet range. That way, you don't make a target of
yourself everytime you fire the damn thing. [Be sure to buy a pair of
UV/IR goggles if you do, otherwise, you've just got another fancy toy
you can't use.
ANd for the truly sadistic, get yerself a maser [Microwave
Amplification By Stimulated Emission of Radiation, the first 'true'
laser created]. At close ranges, this thing would superheat the blood,
like cooking an egg in it's shell in a microwave, and KABLOOEE!!!. Hasta
lasagne, don't get any on yah. Go for head shots if you can, to make it
more effective.

Have fun.

Actually, IIRC, a maser won't superheat you...at least not
effectively...because the heating principle of a microwave oven depends on a
sort of "cyclotron" principle -- jerking the water molecules in the food one
way and then another to create heat. You need klystrons on both sides of the
subject, working in synchronization.... But I could be wrong on this one.

One thing I DO know that masers do...and this COULD be very effective...is
they play merry hell with electronics. They fry the suckers. Picture hidden
masers at a secured installation. Your cyber-goons rush in, Initiatives and
Reactions at the max, wired to the gills, and then all of a sudden....

"Sorry boys. Your initiative's just taken a turn for the worse." <EGMLOL>
