ok, I'm being good no more disgusting the other topic :)

Did you know that in most places in the US that Cops can't use laser sights?
Simple reason is that it takes longer to use the laser sight. Also if you
learn with a laser sight, you are less accurate than draw and pull when you
don't have a laser sight or in instances you can't use a laser sight.
in any case it slows you down. Makes you rely on the little red dot. In
general cuts down you efficiency with other pistols.

(jab at people from the other discussion!!!!!) Having used a laser sight I
agree and have gone back to draw and shoot, and good old iron sights. It was
neat using the 'little red' dot. But also a real distraction in time, also
in a lot of light conditions it was really useless and you couldn't see it
at all.

Isn't the point of a laser sight that it allows you to shoot without having
to look over your sights? I mean, you don't use it for aiming extremely
accurately, but for snapshots...?

Ah, but the movies always have the laser sight moving slowly around to the
eye, so you know the sniper is there...
(Dumb idea... I'd keep it AWAY from the eye. Isn't the idea of sniping is
to not let them know you're there. (Actually, I wouldn't use a laser sight.
50 odd meters isn't exactly long range))

Real Programmers never work 9 to 5. If any real programmers
are around at 9 am, it's because they were up all night.
Finger me for my geek code

Interesting. I shoot Practical Pistol, and of the thirty or so people at the
club about ten (including myself) use iron sights and the rest use red dot
sights. Not lasers: Aimtech or C-More sights, which project a red dot into
your field of view. Like a laser, but passive, and the dot works in any light,
and is a lot quicker to pick up.

I always thought those were much more credible than the 'laser' sights
used in Shadowrun: certainly the IPSC champs all use them, and they are
specifically outlawed in Stock and Modified classes. They do need practice
before you get the same speed, but your accuracy is much better. The problem
for me is mostly cost :-(

When you have shot and killed a man, you have defined your attitude towards
him. You have offered a definite answer to a definite problem. For better or
for worse, you have acted decisively.
In fact, the next move is up to him.
