>>firearms rules.

How, then would my mage, who has Levitate Item and a couple of
grenades stage the damage he does? He Levitates the grenade right up to the
enemy's head, or against it if it's set for impact (a more difficult option
for cocky spell-slingers), and there you have a ground zero grenade blast
that cannot be staged up, because only successes in a throwing test stage
the damage!

The distance is travelled virtually instantly according to the SR
rules, so there's not much the bad guy can do in the way of evasive
techniques, and it's 100% accurate so it's gotta be bad for ya.. I have
experimented a little with using the successes from the spell test as
staging, but have nothing concrete at the moment. Any ideas or criticisms
welcome...

Merlin.

Well, you could make use of the rules in FoF about grenades not going off
for a certain number of phases (3 or 8 or something). I'm sure that would
make it interesting, and give the poor sod on the end of it time to react
menawhile and do something.

Sure, if you wanted too non-aerodynamic grenades can have a time-delay,
but they can also be fused for impact detonation, and I'm sure that
mini-grenades are _always_ impact fused.

Man, how do you work out levitating grenades, ther's always someone with an
akward question (and sometimes it's me :-))

Yeah sorry about that, I almost wish I hadn't thought of it now - as soon
as I G.M. again the blasted (har har) things are going to be levitating all
over the place. Still don't know how to stage the damage either.

Rather bother with staging raise the power of the grenade by the
number of extra successes after reducing scatter. It works in our
system.

As for levitating grenades, rather use magic fingers, they are after
all more menouverable...
