Sod gun control...
whats the legality rating of a flamethrower????

Highly Illegal with whistles and bells, yes?

So whats the legality rating of possessing the 'flamethrower'
SPELL???
The cops are gonna bust your mage/magic circle/library for
stocking it, and shamen and spirits aregonna get done for
supply...

By the way...can a spirit testify in court?
(House spirit ID's the killer who broke in)
or maybe a free spirit ?
(talking eagle in the stand?)
And are they criminally responcable for there actions?
(spirit who killed with accident power in the dock?)

Also...
One bizare thing that happened...
players caught a vampire, and got arrested trying to kill it..
they got done for attempted...
The VAMPIRE became a media star,as the trial started, because
the vamp claimed to never have killed, only to drink from willing
victims, and was innocent till proven guilty...
The META rights groups where all a little shaken up by this...
Remember...bloodsuckers have rites too!!!

Chopper
beware the superficially profound

Whoa. Y'know... I never thought of this. This is going to make a great
addition to my campaign! The mages will go nuts! Especially with the fact
that, in the background of my campaign, one particular Magical Group is
vying for a position in UCAS government (calling itself "The
Magistrate"). I love it!

Somewhere, and it might have been in the 1st Ed. Grimoire, it is written
that a mage is responsible for the actions of any spirit she conjures.
Thus, if a spirit's actions are considered an extension of a mage,
perhaps the information gleaned would be considered done under an
extension of her senses. Besides...unless you intend to go to court
before the next sunrise/sunset, that nature spirit isn't really going to
be too useful...and even a lucky mage with 10 Successes on his Elemental
Conjuration can only have the elemental wait around for 10 days at
best...

<Laugh!> This is cool. I treat the whole vampiric aspect a bit
differently in my campaign so it wouldn't work for me but it sure sounds
like a fun thing to have happen.

You forget that in SRI and Grimoire both, they talk about a paranatural
investigator giving oath in court about tracking astral spell links,
spirits, ect. So if a paranatural investigator is on your case, you
could be in some serious trouble. He can get to your spirits before
they leave, or if necessary (and a really heinous crime) an Astral
Quest can be performed, where the Citadel has all the answers...

The Vampire thingie is pretty neat. Currently there is a
political campaign going on to get civil rights for Vampires and
Were-types in my world.
A lot of the older vampires are against it, as well as a lot of
the older weres. Say something about it being against the masquerade and
"rending the veil". Gonna happen though. Unless the PCs blow it. And
they just might. Time marches on. . . And I got players who aren't
marching with it. Oh, well.

no - summoned spirits are not admisible evidence.

>or maybe a free spirit ?
>(talking eagle in the stand?)

possibly, but who is going to supeana it?

>And are they criminally responcable for there actions?
>(spirit who killed with accident power in the dock?)

the summoner is.

Elementals "At the time of the summoning - the elemental is bound and
effectively placed on notice to respond to calls from the mage. It the departs
to places unknown (the meta-planes) where it remains until called". what this
means is that the fire elemental you summoned 5 years ago is still bound until
you use up ALL of services.

interesting - except that being a Vampire is illegal everywhere but Cal-free.
They have bounties on their heads and are to be killed when found. In Cal-free
there is only ONE vampire that is excepted - just barely.
