I think it sounds like someone trying and failing to do an American
accent.

BTW, I guess I'll probably pronounce things the American way too, unless
I'm paying attention to what I'm saying (still practising that Australian
accent, though :)

I meant a pre-corrupted-my-the-yanks Dutch accent.....

In that case, you're going to have to talk to older people, say 40+, who
haven't been corrupted by American stuff as much as the younger
generations.

I've tried watching (what's the name again -- that Scottish comedy that
used to be on BBC about the guy with the fishing net style shirt)
sometimes, and it was a bit _too_ hard to understand :)

Rab C Nesbit, and don't worry...
Sometimes, he's just as incomprehensible to us English...

That's not a typical Scottish accent....
(It's Glaswegian [from Glasgow], and it's like comparing standard English to
a Georie accent...)
