1) Firearm scopes are given ratings of 1 to 3, but binoculars are
described as up to x50 mag. How does one rating translate to the other?

2) Characters who purchase alpha, beta, or delta-grade cyberware have the
cyber specifically tuned to their body, thus the lower essence cost. What
happens when someone with delta-grade cyber is killed, hacked to bits, and
the cyber is implanted in someone else? Is it treated as normal cyber for
essence cost, or would it cost more essence than normal?

IMO; teh scope gives a magnification of rating X3 or 4
I went over this with a lot of AOLers, teh general consensus was "who cares"
but that is what I like :-)

Ratings for scopes are given considering the game mechanics.
A x50 magnification refers to the physical world and not the
game mechanics. So far the facts. Since you can buy scopes
for almost all weapons they have to satisfy all ranges. This
means that there are different scopes for each kind of
weapon. A pistol would have a different magnification than a
scope for a sniper rifle.
Ahm - I just wanted to say you can't translate directly from
a scopes rating to the magification.
Another point is that a higher rating doesn't necessary mean
a greater magnification. It can mean that the scope system
has a better vibration suppression or active target
selection. Just MHO!

I would assume that alpha and maybe beta should be not a big
problem to convert. Maybe you have to grow some new cell
cultures, but it should be possible. In my campaign you need
delta clinic to install delta cyberware. The problem is not
to get (or pay) the delta cyberware but to find one of the
five(?) delta clinics and make them installing what you
want. So delta cyber from a victXXX a donor is (in my game)
almost useless. It can be sold for a very low price but the
runners cannot use it themselves.

Delta is custom built for each user... it would not be usable by ANYONE else
as second hand cyberware.

Oh no!!! Why did someone have to bring this up? Don't you know the demon
you've just summoned by the name of Schizi?

I was under the impression Delta Grade was just highly expensive materials
not as intrusive to the body and using new techniques to interface with the
mind, not custom built per the buyer. Was that in CT?

As for it being second hand: No one in their right mind would buy it or sell
it. Delta Grade is only produced by, what, seven or eight Delta clinics in
the entire world (and, no, they aren't all as under-guarded as the one in
Stranger Souls), so you have a very small pool of Delta-grade ware out there,
all easily traced back to certain operatives by their corporate sponsors. So
you try and sell the ware, and they know you geeked their boys, and you might
as well buy a jar of model paint and put the bullseye on your forehead to
save yourself grueling seconds. They'd want their investments back, so the
stuff would be so hot you couldn't buy it and expect to live for long
afterwards.

realism, don't drag them down the Twisted path :-)

Yup, Page 44, first Paragraph. Its because its custom built as well as using
the more expensive materials etc, that give it the high cost / low essance.
