(I switched from digest to regular format in the hopes that stuff I posted
would, in fact, appear on the list. Andrew R., if you see this, ping me,
wouldja?)

My game is centered in Houston, though they've been to Austin, Dallas, the
Florida Keys, an offshore platform in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico [or
is it the "Gulf of Aztlan" now?], Denver, & LA. The next adventure will
take them to Tir Taingire and Seattle.

Anyway, while I liked Threats, I kept wishing for more. The book should
have been about 1/3 bigger, IMHO, giving more info on just about all of
them (Lowfyr's bit seemed really skimpy). On the other hand, Mr Darke and
the Blood Magic Conspiracy are just so deliciously evil that they're going
to appear in my game. (Dovetailing with what I'd been planning for a
while. My "inspired by B5" game needs a Mr Morden, and now the Shadows
have a 'name'.)

More real 'GM' data / ideas could have been useful, there is very
little really new info given away in this book on the existing
subjects, the totally new stuff is another matter.

I assume you have not read HB then, i'm affraid this is little use to
me as thanks to knowing something about ED and reading HB (which the
fiction describes bits of and all the critters and Mr Darke are out
of) i know more than it says here! i mean the enemy could just plain
raise the guy if required.
If you don't have HB though it could be kind of nice.

The new data on 'how' they are doing things is good if you want
players to see stuff (but not get involved unless they want to get
swatted like flies). However i knew what the Azzies were trying to do
over a year back.

Yes the enemy would fit the bill nicely, though the two 'shadows'
seen at the end of season 1 looked more like true form bugs though if
the PC's have seen bugs that might just help the confusion.

I was overall not to happy with threats, in the hands of players it
gives away far too much stuff that until now has required patient
putting together to work out, the pointer at 'the island' being the
worst example. Some of the stuff however is happily inspiring game
ideas, though unless you do a lot of SR GMing you are i suspect not
really going to find the book worth it.
