Right now I'm considering picking up a new source or core book. I've
already got MITS, M&M, and SR3. I was thinking Beyond the Shadows (3rd
ed. of course) or maybe something that gives grid background (PLTG's,
security ratings, etc.) I'm ordering online in any case so I won't have
to track one down nearby. At this point I'm open for suggestions,
'cause I probably won't order till Friday.

The SR Companion (what you call "Beyond the Shadows," though that name is
only on the cover of the second-edition version :) may be a good choice, as
it gives both the PCs and the GM some extra options.

Matrix books (Matrix and Target: Matrix) may be good if your group includes
a decker, but otherwise you can leave them pretty much alone, IMHO. Both
try to make the Matrix accessible for non-deckers, but don't really succeed
in doing so except at a very low level which is easily improvised anyway.

My suggestion would be to look at what kind of PCs you have, and where you
want your campaign to go. Most PCs like using guns, so Cannon Companion
might be a good choice, while if you've got players interested in cars or
other vehicles, Rigger 3 is another good option. Alternatively, if you want
a book that's mainly useful for the GM, pick up one of the sourcebooks that
details organizations in the Sixth World, such as Underworld Sourcebook,
Corporate Download, etc.
