Hello all,

Of course i'm willing to pay the costs for this.

As it so happens, I have extra copies of KA*GE issues 8-12 (12 was the last
one, BTW), two copies of each. I'd be willing to part with them from $5.00
American for each set of four issues, plus appropriate postage. If anyone's
interested, send me some email.

KaGe _was_ an official magazine; FASA had licensed the publishers to put
it together, but as J.D. posted last week, they pulled the license last
March. I've seen a number of issues (courtesy of Stefan Struck :) and it
looked pretty good. But since we've now got Shadowland, we needn't bother
with KaGe anymore.

BTW, "KaGe" is pronounced "cow gay" as I recall reading in the
magazine :)
I wonder what they were taking when they thought up the name *grin*

Actually, I think you'll find thr pronounciation would be:

Kah Gay, Not COW or CAW.
(I'm doing Japanese at the moment!)

hmmmmm, and don't forget which syllable to accent and even then it's not
all that simple to explain the actual utterance in proper Japanese.

What is the difference in pronounciation
between "Kah" and "CAW"? They read the
same to me in my dialect (Mid-Atlantic US
English)

I think you'll find that inflection isn't very important in japanese.
There are only a few words where it is (and they're spelt slightly
differently). Are you thinking of chinese? That (I've heard) is based a hell
of a lot on tone.

in general. I've found that intonation has "slightly" different meanings in
some areas, somewhat like an accent. Doesn't always change the actual meaning
of the word uttered per se, just provides a little information on the speaker.

Well I was going by the way KA GE said it was pronounced in one of their
issues. Oh and one of my managers at work goes by the callsign KAGE MUSHA
and being of the Asian ethnic group I tend to believe him when he says "CawGay"

"Caw" is the sound a crow makes, "kah" sounds like "hard-k
short-a".
The "h" in there is just plain confusing.

You do then, right? OK, so I might have remembered it wrong... One letter
isn't such a big deal... BTW, how's your German, Ed? :)
