Hya all!

The recent talk about Physad's and the inevitable money/power lvl. got me
thinking.
Have any of you used a 'low-money-lvl.' in your campaign? What I'm asking
is, what's your opinion on setting the rescources priority on a maximum lvl.
of C, or D?
I think this is a nice one...
Priority lvl. C: 90.000 nuyen. The guns department is okay, since your
average tooled-up predator would be something 'round 2.000 nuyen. Armor is
affordable too, even the heavy armor. However, the street sams will be the
ones havin _huge_ drawbacks, because of the cyberware.. maybe they may have
priority D???
Well, I kinda like this idea. I know this sortoff a 'It's your campaign'
idea, but, I'd still like your opinion anyway.;)

Also, I read something about physad's being able to cast mage spells. In
which book should I look for this?

Well, thanx in advance,

Jod

The new campaign I GM is like this. I used the point based system to create
the characters but it could be easily adapted to priority system.
Ressources were like this :
-5 0 Y
0 500 Y
5 2000 Y
10 5000 Y
15 10000 Y
Players couldn't spend more than 15 points in ressources. To create the
characters, the players had to spend 80 ponts.
If you want to use priorities, use this :
B 15000 Y
C 7000 Y
D 3000 Y
E 500 Y
With such a system, few characters will have cyberware. This also makes
shamans and adepts much more powerful in comparison to other type of
characters.
If your campaign will give them high fees, those who imagined their
characters with cyberware will be able to gain it. You will see that
characters buy different cyberware when they earn the money instead of
beginning with 1.000.000 Y.
Because the characters were young, they were limited to 5 in the attributes
and to 4 in the skills except etiquette(street). Mages didn't get the 30
free spell points and had to pay 1 point for 2 spell points.
With these rules, physads are awful ! But then, they're probably the best
in a street level environment.

??? You don't need any other priority than ressources to create a street sam.

Well, there are "Physical Magicians" in the Awakenings sourcebook, and than
we have some edges in the Companion that allow any magically active
character cast "innate" spells, of sorts...

Could be one o'those, hmmm?

I really think that if you're going to limit access to tech via limiting
resources, you should also limit access to magical ability (via caps on
starting skills or something similar). Otherwise magic is the only way to
have a powerful character, which seems against the grain of SR to me.

No real PhysAds, but check Awakenings, pp. 56-57 and 119 for "Physical
Mages".
