Mage casts spell at corp.
Mage 2 intercepts spell and fights it for a while.

While this is going on, mage 1 casts another spell at corp
there by killing him.

Mage 1 then casts spell at mage 2 - who is till fighting spell in
astral - and kills him.

Mage 1 wins.

This doesn't happen. The conflict between mage 2 and the spell is nearly
instantaneous. If the mage wins, the spell is defeated; if the spell wins,
it continues on to the target. This conflict is resolved before any others
occour. It is contests between mages and spirits which can become long,
drawn-out battles.
