I am new to this whole system, But if I understand properly about how mages
get their power, Isolating and recombining the genes for magik would do
no good. It seems to me that the idea about materials not being manipulated
before holds true in this matter. When creating a focus or other such
enchanted item, you must spend time finding resources not tampered with
by man previously. If you were tampering with genes, wouldn't that fall
along the same lines. (IMHO, of course)

Thanks,
-J!
