Ghost may be thinking of initiates who attempt to alter their magical
signature- which is covered in Awakenings, iirc.

Ahhh, yes. I'll admit, I never could figure out what was so all-fired
special about changing the look/feel of your magic that it required
essentially burning a whole initiated magic point just for the chance to do
it. I suppose we'll have to wait and see how MitS deals with it.

A) It's bloody hard to do. So instead of spending the effort of initiation
on expanding your magical abilities, you're spending that effort changing
the way the mana flows through you (your magical signature)

B) The magical signature is an important forensic clue. You don't want
people changing it the way they change their underwear (ie, about once a
week, based on some of the PCs I've seen players play)
