Clean, simple, and fast is the LAST thing you want for intimidation-
a clumsy female troll samuri with a set of hand razors and a biotech
chip (low rating, preferably) would be much worse.

If that kind of thing worries you. Hormone shots can replace the
function, cloning can replace the organs, and surgery can improve both.
Do you really think mutilation is gonna get you very far as an
interrogation technique in SR, at least with anybody who really has
something worth hiding? Sure, your punk on the street is scared, but
he's a pushover anyhow.

Maybe I'm just a little less "anxious" than most, but I can't see
this bothering any character whose already had his entire reflex and
endochrinal system re-done.

Well, faster than herding up the sheep, locking it in some device and
snipping manually. Much easier to just look at the sheep. The
speed of the operation isn't that much of a factor in intimidation -
you can't get much quicker than a gunshot. OK, it's not much for
*torture*, but that's a whole different subject.

Depends on the spell. Besides, they wouldn't be *original*. :-)

It makes for much more... interesting roleplaying sequences. Yeah,
you could just make an intimidation roll and get the info but some
of us are sadistic bastards who like to make (N)PCs squirm. :-)

I wouldn't want to have my hand removed even if I knew I could get
it replaced - it just wouldn't be *mine*. Getting your reflexes
rewired is different - it's an improvement, not a replacement.
Besides, psycho combat gods are pretty tough to intimidate anyhow.
Mind Probe is much easier. Not as much fun, but easier. :-)

Hey, no-one said that the intimidation version of the spell (as opposed to
the utilitarian one) had to be painless.....

How about a permanent manipulation spell that not only removed the
genitalia, but also alters the victims DNA slightly, so that it thinks he
never had one?

Evil sick and twisted, and most likely impossible (the dna part I mean).
But an A+ for creativity in my book. :)
