Perhaps I should have been more explicit...they are among the more magically
potent as well as temporally powerful nations on the continent.
Do not misunderstand, my purpose was not to dismiss the ability of the other
North American nations, rather to point out that the relative potency of Tir
Tairgire and Aztlan generally exceed them--how else would one reconcile the
tremendous reputation which they possess regarding such matters? True, some
reputations are so much smoke and mirrors, but both command respect and/or
fear borne out by true power in that arena. This, combined with the fact that
they are powers to contend with even in a strictly temporal sense, makes them
quite powerful. Many of the NAN are very magically-active, but they do not
match the Tir or Aztlan in more mundane forces.
Hence, they are "natural" enemies.
As to the Great Ghost Dance...given the speculation within the Grimoire as to
the tremendous amount of drain involved (copious quantities of participants,
such that the drain may be measured best in the fatalaties incurred--were that
information available), I rather doubt they are too anxious to simply throw
such powerful, yet almost crippling, magics about.
