I'm sorry, this is totally OT, but has anybody read "Bored of the Rings"?

Yes.... Funny in places, but the jokes get monotonous after a while.
Pratchett is much funnier....

Read it. Loved it.

Still not sure whether the authors should be honoured greatly, or burned
at the stake for sacreliege :)

I suppose "Bored of the Rings" is a satire on The Lord of the Rings? For
those interested, where might I find it?

Bookshops? If they don't stock it you could probably still order it...
(Or is it out of print?)

Anyway, it's by the Harvard Lampoons, if that's any help...

To put it euphemistically, yes. It pretty much sums up Tolkien's 1200
(plus or minus) page series in around 100 (or less) pages. I had to stop
reading it during physics in highschool...it was too hard trying to keep
quite, and me going into convulsions every few pages was a bit
distracting to the teacher.

I think it might be out of print. I stumbled onto my copy (a few years
ago) a few months after a friend suggested it to me - wandered into a
book store and saw a single copy of it sitting on the shelf, did a double
take and pulled out my wallet. I haven't seen any copies since.
