I thought Delta & Rangers also taped the clasp thingys
with tape so they could half pull the pins (to save
precious time when prepping a grenade)& If the pins
were ever caught or pulled clear by accident they
wouldn't blow themselves up.

Wouldn't that take more time having to pull off the tape?

If you use the right tape you can tear it quickly, but it won't tear under
the pressure of the lever.

I see your point Cash but It doesn't take much time at
all. From my understanding they don't rip the tape off
at all, no need, In the action of throwing the other
hand rips the clasp up just enough for the igniter
stick inside to drop & set the grenade. It's done In a
fluid motion that It takes no time at all as you have
to use 2 hands when taking the pin out anyway. The
tapes just there to give you a window of safety If the
pin Is accidently pulled. I don't claim to have the
best information on the topic, so would someone more
In the know like to comment?
