I really like the way that FASA is setting mages up for a fall. Mages are
doing everything wrong. Blood Magic, summoning the Enemy, bullying
nations with their power, creating Blood Spirits, Cybermancy.

Meanwhile, tech sided things are getting more and more nifty stuff. AI's.
UV Hosts, Cybertechnology, Rigger stuff in Security Handbook, etc.

Now, let me guess, a major Enemy breakthrough (pun intended) will occur
and the blame will be placed on mages, mages reps will be crushed. The
world will have a renewed vision of tech being the answer and general
opinion of mages will be shattered.

After all, mages DO hold a position of power, instrinic in their very
being, over non-mages. The only reason that has not turned into general
m,age hatred is because of all the meta-humans around to hate instead.
Now that meta-humans are becoming the norm, and magic is becoming more
and more dangerous...

Meanwhile, the Evil Immortal Dwarves of Zurich are carefully crafting their
tunnels and hoarding the world economy's tangible wealth, so that when the
Scourge comes and that Other Evil Immortal Conspiracy That Everyone Knows
About trys to save the world from the upcoming Scourge, and the AI's
declare the Matrix to be off limits to those not one with the Deep
Resonance, they will buy up everything worth having when the dust clears
...
