Sorry to be a grump but whenever someone replies to one of my posts I get
2 copies. One goes to the list the other to me personally. Now I realise
that alot of this is to do with people hitting the reply key then typing in
the address for the list at the CC prompt. However I do this but I avoid
sending 2 copies to people, what you do (assuming you have elm or something
similar) is go to the headers when you have comleted your reply. Press the
'T' key, this will allow you to change the To field. You will find that it
is currently set to the person who originally wrote the message. Delete it
and type in the address of the list instead. This way everyone only gets
1 copy.

It's quick and easy to do especially with elm, I don't know about other
systems mind, so it may not be possible to do with a PC or a VAX..

Again, sorry to be grumpy but it is annoying especially when you find yourself
replying in virtual real time to someones posts, they reply back and so on...

Phill.

Actually, w/my mailer (pine) it simply asks if you want to reply to all
recipients. If you say yes, it includes the mailing list. If you say no,
it only replies to the original poster. So... Unless I'm thinking about
it (like I did w/this one) I don't go back and erase one of the "to"
entries. *shrug*

Same here. I also use pine. when I reply, it will only go to the person
who sent it, but if I want to also go to the list, I press Y at that
prompt. This has the unfortunate side effect of causing mail to go both
places. I'm looking in to having the default reply being the list and
not hte person, but I don't know if HEARN can do dat or not.

Don't hold your breath, and live with the 'D' key.

Not to mention token theatre majors/English minors who want to write
and direct motion pictures.

You CAN'T be the token English major. I am!! If you take that away, I can
only be the token 9' metahuman minority member (alliteration is so very
entertaining).

I just wanted to say that I'm NOT an English major.
No, I just have an English degree, and I'm spending my days copying
checks at a bank.
Grumble, gripe....

No; then you'd be one of those annoying people who tell you that the bank isn't
supposed to tell you your account is overdrwan, allowing you to incur further
financial liability until your bank statement arrives.

KeyBank must DIE!!!
