Just a quick note:

I got some more information on Global Priority (GP) mailing prices today,
and then promptly left them at work... But, I did see that the prices I had
been given earlier for GP were wrong (they were for letter size pieces). GP
for the t-shirts would actually be somewhere around $10, give or take -
comparable to the other mail class rates.

Really? I'm impressed. I did a check on Global Today at the Post Office
itself for something in the 3 pound range. Sure, no problem. $12 was the
beginning amount. Get that up to around 7 pounds at 30+ is easily attained.

Well, Dan works at the Post Office, delivering the mail, so I am
thinking he should know... or at least have some great connections
with good data.

Well, a T-Shirt isn't likely to weigh more than 3 pounds, neh? Which means,
$12 US at the worst. :-)

Hey, he's not the only one anymore, today was my second day on the job as a
beginning career employee at the USPS in Indianapolis. Four down, 86 more
days to go.

Heh. But *don't* take what I say as gospel. Due to some crazy new
organizational ideas, our office no longer does retail window service. So
we have to call to stations that do to find out the latest info :).

Ok, actually brought it home today...

Flat Rate (12 1/2" x 9 1/2") envelope, which I'm told should hold a
t-shirt, starts at $6.95 for Western Europe, Canada, Mexico, and the Middle
East, and is $8.95 for the Pacific Rim and South America.
Weight-based pricing seems to start a bit higher and go up.

Confirmed on that suggested end, as well as the potential size of the
envelope/mailer with regards to what is shippable. Please note however, that
the mailer isn't something you would particularly want to shove a 2XL shirt
into without giving the mailer itself some taped reinforcement.
