Hoi,

Is there anybody else that find it a real pain if you don't check you
mail like five times a day when you do you have to download a couple
of hundred mails ... Most of the frankly of no worth or interest at
all ...

would it be so hard to have like a daily digest instead ... sure it
would come later than the mails but instead of getting all those
"small" mails you would just get on alittle larger.

Even thou the main letter in it self is not very large the mail is.
With all the information its contains about origin, time, datestamps
and god knows all the other crap in there.

And you would not have to have all them letters saying I agree or the
once saying "Is this thing working ?".

I want a daily digest instead it would be so nice.

/Stefan

For the second time in as many months. If you want to have discussions
about what you like, START THEM!

If you would take 5 minutes to read the FAQ, it wouldn't be hard.

I'm so sorry you don't like it. How about you write an email program that
doesn't add these fields.. I mean, it won't actually DO anything without
some of those fields, but hell..

|Read the Fucking FAQ!

I just told him to e-mail listserv for help.
That way, he shouldn't NEED to ask any questions about setting no-mail,
etc.....

And it forces them to use the ol' grey matter a little....

Well I would first like to thank the people whom it concerns for the
great big slam and crap I recived due to this innocent question:

---------------

#Possibly a little....
#It's our job to help him exercise what little he might have, in order

Well wasn't this just jolly nice readin'. One "little" mail with a
question leads to a massive barrage of insults and a minor mail flood
attempt that did not by the way succeed.

Was not one replay enough to this then ? Adam was the first to
respond and he explained it all very well ... the rest of ya simple
just had to kick and stomp some more for you personal amusement.

> For the second time in as many months. If you want to have
> discussions about what you like, START THEM!

Well I intended to ... but frankly at the moment I feel rather
discuraged. A simple mail with a simple question that would just have
required a simple answer lead to a bunch of insults from people that
does not even know me.

So if I ask the same question someone had asked before what keeps the
same from comming up again and frankly I can live without that.

> If you would take 5 minutes to read the FAQ, it wouldn't be hard.

Well if I had know that there was one ... I would have ... Now I
have. I simple got the address from a fellow GameMaster and he said
that this was supposedly a nice source of information.

After going thru the waste amount of mails I do recive from this
mailing list I noticed a pattern. There is about 20 or so people that
apparently says everything ... Most other people are just readers.
If they say something they just get barraged with insults and crap
cause this has already been discussed before ... Well excuse the
newcomers ... Can't you people just ignore it then instead of spewing
back your haterade over the new subscribers. GROW UP DAMNIT!

I intend to show that I am above certain people here by not resorting
to the same name calling as others have but to you and I guess you
know who you are I just have one thing to say:

"Frag you and the datastream you came on!"

I answered your digest question simply and without insult.
But then, I'd skimmed through the post ans hadn't read the insulting parts
at the time....

If something doesn't interest you, fine, skip it, but don't start
complaining to the list, because if someone IS talking about it, then
someone must find it interesting... QED.

|So if I ask the same question someone had asked before what keeps the

HINT: Don't ask about FAB, or Grounding through quickenings.
Most other areas are safe.

It can be. It's a good idea to lurk for a while before posting.
Otherwise, you might end up putting your foot in your mouth.

(We're a generally friendly list, and feel free to take the michael of each
other when the opportunitu occurs....)

I suppose that's a fair summation....

There are a lot of taboo subjects.
When the FAQ finally wends its weaty way to you, you'll find out what they
are, and what the general concensus was, if one was ever reached....

Well, you can't blame us for having a little fun once in a while, can you?
I gave you the info you needed, and then responded to someone elses post
with a little insulting humour (boucing off his even more insulting
humour)....

You'll get used to it.....

Well, I have read the mailing list digest discussion... (am I one of
the readers?)
And I don't see how you have been offended... the message with 'no
grey matter' wasn't very funny, granted, but some people just have a
different sort of humour... I know some of the people who answered
(or at least their style of posting) and I don't think anyone wanted
to offend you.
You are welcome on the list, as is any one who behaves, and you have
behaved quite well up to now. Just a slight misunderstanding...
Happens all the time, will happen again. No need to get mad about it.

Ah, the joys of posting to shadowrun <friendly grin>

This happens occasionally. It doesn't take much for a
misunderstanding to occur with email (just ask MC23 or Topcat).

I'd suggest that you don't take it personnaly, unless it involves
actual name calling. Then try to take it to private mail (i.e., not
the list). If all else fails blow the person(s) off.

The same questions get posted to the list all the time, and I've never
really seen anyone get insulting over any of them. We do tend to
discourage a small number of subjects, mainly FAB and grounding through
sustained or quickened spells, but apart from that I don't think you need
to be afraid to ask a question.

> I simple got the address from a fellow GameMaster and he said that this
> was supposedly a nice source of information.

It is. It's also a sort of small community, and the old-timers especially
tend to joke about and with things we've learned about the others. I can
imagine how newcomers may think this is somehow aggressive behavior, but
on the whole I'd say we're a friendly enough bunch of people.

> After going thru the waste amount of mails I do recive from this

That would be the right conclusion. It's probabl more than 20, but
definitely not all 200 people say something regularly, and many of them
never post at all. Which one you want to be is completely up to you, as
far as I'm (and most others are) concerned.

> Most other people are just readers. If they say something they just get

Sorry, but in my experience that's not true. Sure, there are some people
who get irritated over certain matters (Spike didn't become the second
list.member.grumpy for nothing, for example) but IMO that's not because
we've seen most threads before. Do you really think that if I were to get
angry with a new member for bringing up something I've seen before, that
I'd still subscribe to this list? Hell, I must have seen just about every
thread there is about Shadowrun :)
