OK, excuse the OTness of this, but I think I have figured out how I can
both send and recieve mail here with some regularity.

Here the sit: I have 2 accounts, both free, one that can send mail
perfectly but has problems handling the traffic of the list, and another
that downloads my mail rather nicely, but I can't seem to get it to send
using my server.

My proposed solution: I subscribe with both, set the one that sends
NOMAIL, and use it just to send. In theory , that should be just fine.
One question though, besides having a spilt personality from being
subscribed twice, is there anything else I should know about?
Specifically, when set "NOMAIL", can one send to the list? I will be
subscribed, but I still don't know if ListServ will kill my mails....

Let Me know soon, preferably Mark or Fro....

if both of the account that has problems with the email is a UNIX account, you
could set up a .forward file to mail all mail to the other account.

I have done this in the past, as my mailserver went nuts and it had funktioned
flawlessly.

Will I do?

Being subbed using both account, and having the one you send from set to
nomail will not create any problems for either account where the listproc is
concerned. Nomail simply means the listserv ignores your address when it
redirects the messages it recieves.

The only thing I'd worry about is replying to posts from the list. But since
you don't post as often as some, say Bull, Gurth or Loki... ;) You shouldn't
mind too much using the forwarding function.

Sounds like a good enough solution, though perhaps a bit cumbersome if you
intend to suddenly get more active on the list than you've been in years
:)

AFAIK you can post quite well when your account is set to NOMAIL.
