And Diamond Distribution, the wholesaler that provides comic books,
magazines, action figures, and oh yes, rpg books has a listing for Man
& Machine in their July '99 catalog. (Items in the July Previews are
scheduled to ship in September.)

Man & Machine Sourcebook

A sourcebook for Shadowrun, Third Edition. This sourcebook collects
and updates in a single volume all of the cyberware, bioware, and
other physical enhancements previously published in Shadowrun source
materials. It includes new rules for bioware, new cybertechnology,
rules for cybermancy and surgery, plus basic rules for nanotechnology.
(7126)
(All information is subject to change, but this item should ship no
later than 90 days past its scheduled shipping date.)
Soft Cover
$15.00

Also in the July Previews was something that caught my eye: TSR is
putting out "smaller, easier-to-collect reprints" of the AD&D _first_
edition books. Dungeon Master's Guide, Player's Handbook, Monster
Manual, Monster Manual II, Unearthed Arcana, Fiend Folio, Legends &
Lore, Manual of the Planes, Dungeoneers' Survival Guide, Wilderness
Survival Guide, Oriental Adventures, Greyhawk Adventures, and
Dragonlance Adventures, all at $9.90 a piece.

So now, it's not just White Wolf that thinks there's a market for
out-of-print sourcebooks, WotC/TSR does too. Now if FASA would just
give it a try.

A bit of a word on these books.
TSR is NOT reprinting them. They are being printed
by a European company with a view to gaining sales
on these items as an "impulse buy at point of sale".
I.E. They are not functional. Even though the text is
reproduced in full they are only very small.

I first noticed these on CrazyEgor.com in April
and sent him a message query them. He said that
they were originally planned to be half size but in
fact that they are much smaller and are not guarenteed
to be functional. (I.E. you need Image Mag:3 to read
them.) He also said that he pre-bought heaps of
them on the basis of being half sized and functional
and now he's got a bucketload of these "novelties"
coming in that are virtually useless. In any case at
$9.95 each you can pick up a full sized 2nd hand copy
for that in most things.

As for reprints of Shadowrun stuff I think it
would be nice. Have you seen what Harlequin,
Universal Brotherhood & Tir Tairngire are
selling for these days...urrrghhhh.

I would certainly be interested in SR product reprints
if it was updated for SR3 and functional under
the current timeline. Obviously UB is a bit
obsolete with even newbies getting the plot
spoilt in the front of SR3, which is a shame
because it is a brilliant game that one.

I know a guy who just started playing in December with SR3, and he picked up
all three books for a total of fifty bucks. EBay has hideously large prices
if you get into a bidding war, but as a point of comparison: I saw one copy
of Harlequin go for over $80 after a bidding war, and then recently I saw one
go for $22.50 very quietly. So be careful on your bids and you should do
fine. Don't go in with that "I must have the book at any cost" attitude, or
you'll end up spending a scary amount of money.

It all depends on how mean the guy is. I recently sold my copy of UB,
Harlequin, Tir, NAGNA, and London (to diff folks) for an average of $18US
(plus shipping). I don't see the reason to ream people out and make them
call you daddy. So my only real point is that you can find them from guys
like me for reasonable prices. And when you sell yours, keep it in mind,
because what goes around comes around (or any other suitably corny cliche).

Are there any real differences in cyber and bioware between SR2 and SR3?

Perhaps it is time for the pesants to revolt. If we go into angry-mob
mode I can supply two extra pitforks and I can can make good torches (the
kind the burn for along time, but they don't burn you). <g>

I certainly hope there will be. However Man and Machine has not yet seen print
so it is still an open call as to what and how.
