Anybody know who the mfgs are for the equipment in the
Shadowtech Sourcebook??

I'm using that equipment as source material for "new development in
technology" for my game. I putting out an ad hoc newspaper for the
players and would like to reference the "new developments" by
manufacturer.

The book makes reference to Universal Omnitech and Genecraft
Biodesigns, but I haven't found any other references to these
companies. Any ideas guys????

thanks,

rob

Well as far as I'm concerned, any mega corp with the ambition to do so will produce the
cyberware. Not all cyberware is made by the same company. If it was that perticular
company and the person running it would be very, very powerful.

Rob,

Just make up a manufacturer's name, or use a major corp. Each corp would
have some cyberware/bioware/equipment production, just because of the
major nuyen that is spent yearly on such stuff.

I know for a fact that

1) Ares makes/sells a majority of the weapons in the game.
2) Fuchi is responsible for a lot of the cyberdecks and addons.

So it would make sense that a major corp would be responsible for a
majority of cyberware (Say Mitsuhama for example, or maybe Renraku), and
that would also work for bioware (Genetech doesn't sound like a major
corp, so it may be a subsiduary of a major corp.)

Not really. FASA doesn't seem to bother much with manufacturers, instead
just saying "This is an encephalon, and here are its stats" instead of
"This is Ares' encephalon, this is MCT's encephalon" etc.

Just use a name that looks or sounds right. Steal from other games, RL,
your imagination, whatever fits the bill. If you want MCT to be the only
manufacturer of softlinks, then make a flyer telling about MCT's recent
innovation in cyberware thecnology, the brand-new softlink!

Just grab a copy of the Corporate sourcebook, it has info on what
everybody's strengths are. Fuchi is also heavily involved in cyberware,
as is Shiawase, which is also mentioned as a biotech powerhouse.

I had a character whose background included testing bioware for Shiawase.
I know I choose that corp due to one of the source books which said
that they had a major division devoted to bioware.

Peace, love and artichokes.
