I guess that answers my question, which, reput, was; If you don't have
unarmed, and want to dodge, is there any penalty? Since you are not
defaulting to anything, there is no penalty for not having the skill, right?
That seemed the point, just wanted to be sure.

Yeah, this at least gives characters without unarmed or armed combat a
chance to avoid damage -it does take all their concentration though (ie
they are spending only combat pool therefore they're likely to spend all
of it).
