Hi all,

I just recently started GMing SR, and have run into a few snags. Mostly
questions about the magic system. There are only a couple I haven't been
able to figre out on my own.

First, can an initiate mask an anchored spell? I would think they could,
using the appropriate force of the anchored spell depending on its
activation/deactivation state to count against the number of force points
he can mask.

Second, if a spell lock is deactivated does it become totally useless, or
can it be reactivated later? I think its the first case, but I'm not
sure.

Thanks for you help in advance...:)

FASA have not answered this one, i would allow folks to as long as
the spell was 'Anchored' to them (not some object they are carrying).
Some folks say yes mask Quiqening and Anchoring as they are sustained
like locks, other take the literal 'FOCI masking' ie only spell locks
power foci e.t.c. are FOCI.

If turned off (a simple action) you can just turn it back on, if
'broken' you must recast the spell and pay bonding costs again.

I'd say you can.

The way I always rule it is that the magician who bonded the lock can turn
it on and off as much as (s)he likes, at the cost of a Simple Action to do
so. If someone else switches it off, it becomes useless (in my game).
