KHANx, I was the first to refer to a third-rate decker, on PLOT-D where we
were discussing unusual characters. The reference was (and I admit it was an
unclear one) to Wolf 359 (not Ramirez, as my imperfect memory recently recalled)whose
description says that he' "actually not a very good decker, but simply
knows where to look. . .". It was certainly not meant to be detrimental, and
was given as an example along with other characters with unusual backgrounds,
capabilities, and resources.
Maybe we need that deep breath again. If you're in a virtual argument with
someone, end it. At least agree to disagree. You will never get 100%
agreement in a pool of life forms this big, so the best thing to do is to
continue on your merry way, ignoring your more vociferous opponents unless
they stand DIRECTLY in your way (as in, won't leave it alone).
