I know this is directly of topic, but since I don't have direct web access,
I was hoping some of you fine folks would be willing to help me.

I know that WizKids/FanPro has done Battletech Classic and Mechwarrior: Dark
Age, but are there any plans for a re-release of the Mechwarrior
pen-and-paper RPG? If so, what is the tentative release date?

Mechwarrior 3rd edition is still available through FanPro. When it sells
out it will be reprinted as the "Classic BattleTech RPG". The Classic
BattleTech RPG Companion should be available in January.

[And to be clear: WizKids did Mechwarrior: Dark Ages. FanPro is doing
Classic BattleTech and the Classic BattleTech RPG.]

To further clarify, the name change is to differentiate the game frome the
"future" storyline of Mechwarrior: Dark Ages, as it will be set in the
Classic Battletech time period.

According to Bull, on Fri, 03 Jan 2003 the word on the street was...

So then what's the name we should use to refer to the _real_ classis
BattleTech -- the Succession Wars period? :)

OK, so are we to expect anything for the "Back in my day, the game was
called BattleDroids! Then George Lucas, still pissed about Willow, came to
my house and took away my books!"?

I saw a copy of that for sale once, but I didn't feel like spending the
quite large amount of money on it that the seller wanted...

Ok, lost track here a bit :] My lob at Gurth was meant as a joke :]

Basically, Classic Battletech is FanPro's continuation of FASA's Battletech
game. The line developer from FASA has come over to FanPro to work on it,
and they basically picked up right where FASA left off with the storyline.

Mechwarrior, FASA's RPG, is getting renamed to something like "Classic
Battletech Role Playing Game" due to Wizkids use of the Mechwarrior
name. Otherwise, that game will be the same as FASA's 3rd edition.

That answer the questions? :]
