idea for the more cybernetically inclined campaigns.
The basic of the idea is a new cyberware unit:
The surgical rig:
The surgical instrument control rig is almost, but not quite
a vehicle control rig with some added features. Just like the
VCR it comes in three levels, which basically gives a surgeon
the following benefits if coupled with medical equipment of
sufficient quality:
-2 x level of rig on all surgery target numbers
-25% x level on the base time for surgery and other medical tasks
The rig consists of the typical nerve muscle hookups which all VCR's have
but with vastly improved control abilities. In addition the system has
a neural feedback monitor which enables the surgeon to actually feel the
pain etc. of the person (variable filter strengths etc.).
In addition to these things the system is usually hooked up to a
medical expert system which the surgeon can access during surgery and
possibly also a matrix linkage to consultants around the globe if necessary.
The system requires a level 4 datajack.
With a Medical Remote Link Interface Deck a surgeon can operate on someone
via a high speed matrix link (VERY HIGH SPEED, like Gigapulses / sec ).
The cost of such systems will be beyond most shadowrunners, no matter what,
and besides it is rarely available for sale.
