There is also the possibility of the Johnson being in the VIP room, and the
stripper could just pass a microtransceiver, allowing only the one character
to negotiate.

I think a lot of Johnsons would prefer not to meet groups face-to-face.
Using intermediaries, datachips, etc. should be more common than in the
published adventures.

I'm trying to make an adventure for 2050 SR and am just asking anyone to
help - the character will meet the Johnson (Eve Donovan) at one of their
hangouts for the initial meet (no phone calls) and told to gather and play
golf at one those early tee times (anyone know when they start?) The run is
nasty - to get into the Tir, steal a Sperethriel language chip (which I
would believe would belong only to Ehran as the keeper of their culture) and
get out - almost a prequel to Harlequin.

Due to the difficulty they will get a lot of assistance. I'm sure quite a
few groups would like to open up the Elvish language, and it apparently
happens by 2061 anyone. I have a method for them to get in with IDs (though
it will be in Astoria and require cosmetic surgery for them all) and one
will have a Sperethriel (3) chip along with Etiquette (Tir Taingire) (4).
They will have to enter Portland and Ehran's estate (hopefully May 1, 2050
when the Rites of Progression or whatever are held), find some clues but NOT
the right chip, get some help from some spies in the Tir to locate where
Ehran hid the chip (basically an old kaer in the Tir not too far from Crater
Lake) and then get out alive with all the elven forces chasing them (I am
guessing south to Cal Free, and then take the bullet train from San
Francisco).

What I need help with - One character gets to be augmented and be Data
Courier. In his headware he will have a Choose-your-own-adventure logic for
looking for helpful allies, what to do when they can't find the chip, etc. I
would guess parts would be written by Spes, Harlequin, and any other
sympathizer that would like to see the language go into the public's hands.
The data is scrambled so you have to ask it a direct question and can't just
scan all the files (repeated attempts to do so will result in it deleting
itself). I need this information to be wiped by mission end (for obvious
reasons) and can't think of a good way to do so (that makes sense and
doesn't require me to hit him with lightning or laes).

Any NPCs that would be fun to encounter during that time would cool too.
Does anyone know specifics of the tragedy that occurs during the games on
May 1, 2050? I like to have my adventures mesh with all the stuff already
out there, but I only own some of the books (mostly older ones).

What inducement would it take for your character to go on this run? I'm
going to let them choose the amount of payment (given in quarters - 25% if
the data gets to any public site, 25% for the decoding algorithm, 25% for
the physical chip, and a 25% incentive for ALL CHARACTERS to meet with the
Johnson when handing over the chip - if someone is missing then it means
anyone who helped them is compromised and odds are that the Elves are
watching the meet go down) and won't let it go over 1 Million, but I think
people would do it for less. How cheap would your group be if you could bid
on it?

I agree completely. Whenever I get a group together, most of their runs
will come through one of the character's contacts (probably a fixer) who
passes on jobs from Johnsons. It will be rare for a direct contact by a
corp-type, or even just a personal job ("Will you find my cat? Hmm? Why,
yes, her name is Blackberry...")

In my old group (which ended about 7œ years ago), it would depend on who did the
negotiationing.

My character hardly knew anything about money, so he would proberly do it for
10K, where as the rest of the group would, depending on the amount of
information they got, do it for between 50K and 100K each (with 6 in the group).

Knowing all that you have told us, I don't thik they would settle for less than
200K each, but just don't telle them all, and they will take it for less.

Keyword costs analysis:

Tir: +100k nuyen
Harlequin: +300k nuyen
Theft: +10k nuyen

So, I'd ask somewhere in the neighborhood of half a million nuyen. As
you can see, the main reason being the 'H' word. =)
