My POV is that each Megacorp, and each division of a Megacorp, will
react differently to a given situation and their needs/desires at the
time. Making a broad sweeping statement that All Megacorps are the
same (will kill the runners) doesn't work for me. Megacorps can have
different "personalities" just like characters. Just because they
have the resources to kill the runners doesn't, IMHO, mean they
will. Hey, this is a roleplaying game right?

I agree with you about Corps having the resources to kill runners and not
choosing to do so. It that was always the case ( killing runers for
screwing things up or messing w/their interests) there would be no runners
for hire when they wouldn't like to dirt their hands.

That's what I'm trying to say. TC follows Aztech's tight security
philosophy while Paul would prefer to spend money on other things that
directly produce profit. They're both going thru problem solving processes
but coming up with different answers. Its the different answers they get
that give the character to the corps not how they got the answer

someone, that
someone must be highly compensated for their trouble (often on
goverment, not corp ground), and that such persons are rarer than we
