Well, I'd be thinking that the "Turn Bullet To Other Form Of Energy" spell
would be more or less a Bullet Barrier spell. It requires an input of
magical energy from the caster, and it stops bullets getting to the target.
While a normal Bullet Barrier spell uses the spells energy to provide an
inpenetrable barrier to bullets (whether you rule it forms air molecules
into a hard wall, or manifests astral energy to the physical in the shape of
a wall or whatever), a "Turn Bullet To Other Form Of Energy" spell uses the
same spell energy, but in a different manner. End result? Same thing happens
- the bullet is stopped short of hitting its target by the power of the
spell. Sure the special effects are different, but it has essentially the
same end result. I don't think it would be overbalancing or munchkinous at
all. Just a little more stylish than a regular Bullet Barrier (and, hey,
it's style that counts after all isn't it? :-)).

It would be nice if you saw the bullets turn into spots of light when they
hit the "barrier." I have to agree that there isn't any game difference
between a Bullet Barrier and a Turn Bullet To Other Form Of Energy spell
(that sucks if you have to type it in a lot :) Apart, of course, from the
fact that it makes you much easier to spot if you are surrounded by specks
of light...

If a mage with this spell active is being fired at enough that they are
"surrounded by specks of light", I think it is safe to say that they have
already been spotted. :-)

But seriously, I think that the T.B.T.O.F.O.E. spell is simply a fancy
bullet barrier. After all, the rules for Bullet Barrier don't actually
specify what happens to the bullets that are stopped by the spell; they
could be converted into specks of light, or they could simply fall to the
ground around the mage like little raindrops, it doesn't really matter.
So, I say, "Go for it!"
