It's just my wonderful gift with words, I suppose... in a reach to bring
this on topic, if a person went to a toxic place, like an ex- concentration
camp, and brought back some article from there, like a lamp, would the
presence of this object still cause discomfort to magicians?

NOOO! Not on topic!!

Just kidding. I imagine it would depend on the item. A
random piece of wood probably wouldn't, however the human skin lampshade
might. Of course a human skin lamp shade would most likely cause
discomfort to just about anyone.
On a side note, the fellow whose skin it was might still
be around also, as a ghost obviously. He could be tied to the cursed
lamp.

That or say it was the axe used to cut off 1000's of people's heads. That
probably will have a negative aura no matter where you take it. :)

I believe that a magician or astrally perceptive entity would find the lamp
distasteful, unless of course you are a "dark and nasty entity" (ie. Wraith,
Shadow-category free spirit, or worse...).

I do know however that such material would be required for a Toxic Shaman to
make a "Toxic Item" of sorts. For instance, Mike B. here has used two
<former> contacts of a players to gain some rebar material from the blast site
within the Chicago Cermak Blast. We do not find any of this entertaining of
course, because it'll probably be a really nasty raw material for a foci of
some form. And then we'll see it further on down the road.

Depends of how much long has it been there and what significance it had
in creating the Background Count. If this lamp had human skin in it, it
would cause
BgCount by itself...
