Hmmmm,
try a book called "Mother of Storms" by John Barnes
1994, TOR publishing, ISBN # 0-312-85560-5
This baby'll rock your world, challenge your very thought processes and
change the way you view "crappy weather".
Also, check out "Heavy Weather" by Bruce Sterling
1994, Bantam Spectra
These books theorize (some heavy science in here) what will/might/could
happen to our world if we fuck [sorry Michael, I guess I cuss too :( ]
with our ecosphere too much. Now, apply these concepts to the 6th world and
add a little magic in for fun, eeeek!
Heavy Weather is very SR'ish, definitely cyberpunk on the order of anything
Gibson's done(or what they've done together).
Mother of All Storms is more hard sci fi but has that cyberpunk feel to it
with a little space-opera thrown in. It really ranges.
In Seattle and looking for wet weather (still in the 80's and sunny, el-nino
is back I hear, whadup wid dat?)
