Man these things get muddled over the years :]

First off, Goblinization only happens to Humans, and only turns them into
Orks and Trolls. Elevs and Dwarves can't goblinize, and are born as such
(Despite a claim in Shadowboxer that a Human turned into a Dwarf, IIRC).

Goblinization is rare, but it does still happen (And as a general note,
Rare does not mean it doesn't happen anymore. And chances are that every
"current" Shadworun instance of it happened are to a PC somewhere :))

Now, the other thing to keep in mind is that whatever it is that makes a
Metahuman something other than a straight Human is simply a Gene, the same
as a Gene for Blond Hair or Blue Eyes. And in this case, it's ahrder to
track the Genetic Ancestry, since before 2011 (and 2023), the Genes were
dormant and undetectable.

So what's this mean? Well, it's been quite some time since I took Bioology
(Hell, 11 or 12 years :)), but, IIRC, this means that even if niether
parents, Neither set of Grandparents, and even none of the Great
Grandparents had Blue Eyes, that it's possible, provided somewhere down the
line SOMEONE in your family had Blue Eyes (I think mainly on a Mother's
Side of the family, but that all a bit fuzzy these days :)), then it's
possibly, though unlikely, that you'll have Blue Eyes.

Translate this to Shadowrun, ESPECIALLY with the gene being Dormant (Which
means that pre-2011/2023, the "races" mixed freely, whereas in SR they tend
to segregate a bit more), anything goes in the genetic soup. Definate
heritage lines are forming, and it's getting less likely to have mixed
racial births, but it IS still possible.

Hell, I had a group a while back that consisted of trhee brothers: An Elf,
a Human, and a Troll :]
