Fer Sure. The special vision in the metas is based on the characteristics of
the eye itself. Pull out the eye and the enhanced vision goes too.

I would have to say YES, and for the following reasons:
1 - Were the low-light/thermographic vision based on the sensitivity
of the eye, which is likely is (more rods in the eye equate to more
night-seeing ability, and eyes sensitive to heat could easily be a
magical effect anchored and working in conjunction with the eyes),
then removal of the eyes would mean removal of the sense. In the
latter case (thermo vision), when you removed the eye, then the magic
that was so much a part of the eye is no longer there. Were the magic
to be reapplied, it still would not work, because it is geared towards
use with the biological, living flesh of the individual it was taken
out of.
2 - Were the eyes not the real need, but only the way the brain
processes the information sent to it, things would still not work
out. The CyberEyes would send a different sinal(s) to the brain than
the biological eyes, so consequently, the brain would not interperet
the information like it would the normal eyes.
3 - Lastly, and most trivial: FASA doesn't ever give their meta's
cybereyes. I have never, in paging through sourcebooks, ever come
across an Archetype or such of a meta that had cybereyes. None of the
meta sammies hav'em...scope it out. Not the Dwarf, not the Elf, not
the Ork, not the Troll....none of them (BTW, these are in the SRII
Contacts book.) _IF_ someone can find an example of the following,
then this Q. is answered:
A meta w/ cybereyes, AND something saying that the "X" character has
natural thermo/low-light vision under the "Notes:" part of the char.
info.
This would mean that metas retain their vision even with cyber
replacements, which would be good, as natural vision is better than
artificial.

Yes, metahumans would lose their natural vision modificators. Since the
They were in the old natural eyes, and not the cyber replacements, they
would not exist in the cybereyes.
