I keep on coming across the term Meta Tallents on SR web pages, I know
roughly what they are; skills linked to metamagical abilitys, but I'm not
too clear on the details, could someone please fill me in.

Well, first of all, they actually aren't skills linked to metamagical
abilities. In most cases, they *are* the metamagical abilities. Skills
related to performing various metamagical actions (such as Centering and
Divining related skills) are something additional the magician must pay for.

Metatalents are quite literally, the metamagical abilities. Examples
include, but are most certainly not limited to... Anchoring, Centering,
Shielding, Masking, Invoking, Divining, Reflecting, and Quickening (which
itself has "Tattoo" beyond that in the developmental scale it seems).
Numerous house rules exist on webpages highlighting literally dozens, if not
hundreds, more potentials out there.

I realised just after sending the message that I ment Meta Skills not Meta
Tallents; in MITS the Centering skill and the Divining skill are delt with
pretty much the same; skills which link to other skills which determine how
well you use your metamagical technique, but they aren't referred to as Meta
Skills.

Which is why I wanted to know about Meta Skills; (its funny you should have
replied because) I was reading on HHH last night about the Summoning
Metamagical technique and I wanted to make sure Meta Skills work the same
way as the cenetering and Divining skills.
