Me too

Actualy its quite easy to find now, go hit the CIA fact book online.
>2) If this is for an RPG (shadowrun in th is case)... why don't you just
>make it up?
Nothing like factual baseline, but then I got a copy of the USASF mission
background list wich gives such pointers.

Well for those of us whom are working merc campaigns especialy long term
ones it is a big factor, and even if not a merc game, haveing some idea of
what proportion of what you might face in a passing military encounter might
be nice. i tend to ground them as close to rl as possible. But then my
games conutry hop alot.

no beef here though i think you are forgetting that cival war has been going
on a long time therein and they might be a tough nut to crack.
>5) Alot changes. What good would knowing the number of units and types of

Aheing material yes, but it does give you an insight as to what the various
military thinkers care to use. If a country has 600 81mm mortars you can
bet they will have a fetish for indirect fire 60 years down the road, hell
look at the brits and 7.62 now.

you might want to try writing/visiting/phoning your
>local consulate/embassy for the countries you are interested in
>(assumingyou live in or near a big city) and asking them for info. Most of
>them maintain a large library of pamphlets and official propaganda
>available to the public... though even then I doubt the information would
>be as detailed as you'd want it
CIA fact book onlie as I said before
