Another book you may want to check out, which I first remembered about 3
minutes ago while reading Ereskanti's epic 'Age of Earth' post. Its called
'The Sign and the Seal', sorry cant remember the author, but this guy
basically did a more sedate Indiana Jones and went searching for the Ark of
the Covenant in his spare time. Again, dont want to step on anybody's toes
if they have major beliefs in this direction, but its a fascinating
combination of fact and pure supposition.

Possibly the niftiest bit from an SR point of view, when the author tries to
explain the origin of the Ark and its legends, it actually links in with
Atlantis and its descendants/survivors. Probably sounds unlikely, but he
makes a good case, generally along the lines of Atlantis sunk, Moses was
saved from a river, Jesus was baptised in a river etc. etc., its been a long
time since I read it.

Ereskanti, damn fine ideas, comments coming when my brain cools down :)

As for the "Ark"...well, we've been using that coffee table for some time.
It's back in the games again, and talk about the shuffling (make Hot Potato
seem like Squash sometimes).
