Ok, to clarify and reiterate - No it's NOT the metalstorm thingy.

Didn't see a picture, but that might be it. It was supposed to be a new
CIWS for naval and army (apparantly anti-air. Don't wanna be the
pilot... *shudder*) use. And while my friend might have exaggerated a
little, it was definitely hushed up and packed away within a few hours.

OK, some of the stats I know are:
1,000,000 rpm
range approx. 5 km
Weight: Lots! Like, heavy truck portable only.
hmmm... memory blank on the rest...

*sigh* This stuff really bores me stupid at times, but there seems to be
a certain enthusiasm for it around the place so here's more

Other things to add;

The item uses multiple (ie; circa 100+) barrels
Uses one barrel per bullet (or loads at most three per barrel)
Fires all barrels near suimultaneously by electrical discharge
(hence the obscene ROF)... Basically it puts up a solid sheet of
lead (or nickel or DU), which would be like flying into a mountainside
for most aircraft and missiles.
Reload is currently a real pain in the arse.... think of about
1000 breech loaded rifles.

Deliriously so.

No, NOT that one... This one is belt fed... I said in my original post
that it DIDN'T use multiple rounds per barrel...

*grin* I'm so glad...
