I've collated some miscellaneous links to Renraku: Shutdown materials
and placed them on a page at this URL:

"http://www.shadowland.org/Shadowland/Private%20Campaigns/objects/page2561.html";

The page contains links to the sections that were cut from the book
(which you can find on FASA's Web site when you look at RA:S in the
catalog), links to additional articles on otaku tribes and Deus' drones
(found on the Screamsheet site), and transcripts of the RA:S game that
has been running on Shadowland for the past few months. The writing
isn't as polished on the game transcripts, but it should give you some
additional insight into certain aspects of the shutdown (as long as you
don't mind wading through lots of pages).

Later,
Dave

Oh how interesting. Dave, I know that once in a while you are on the list as
well. What gives? I was under the immediate consideration that anything that
was posted as part or whole of the material put forth to FASA is considered
theirs' once it is accepted (as RA:S has been). Final editing has made the
space the restrictions of choice.

In either case, I had always wanted to remark on the incidents and makings of
the Otaku that you had put in those pages. Now I know I can.

Folks, the material is impressively long, exceeding the notes I have on my
Enchanting by several times. It is like reading the Initiation material from
the Grimmy-II, and then changing the words to make things match a lot closer.
It is cool, and does allow for an Otaku character to continue to advance.

There is one major problem though as I see it. It threatens to make deckers'
obsolete in much the same way that an Adept threatens to make many Street
Samurai obsolete. Now I admit that I don't have RA:S as of this time
(distributor problems reaching Lafayette for some reason), but I have read
through a very fare portion of Dave's stuff from his Shadowland website. I
don't know everything that is in RA:S, and I would really appreciate it if
those of you here on RN who do have the finished product could actually make
some more lengthy reviews of the material.

I know we've heard there are no floor maps. But what about the major players
of the shutdown itself? What about the information on how to recreate the
Otaku that was originally supposed to be in RA:S? Mike B., in lue of the RA:S
text to arrive here today, finally had the arc shutdown here in the home games
last night. I have been sullenly quiet with regards to this material, as per
Dave's request to me, but now I really want to know.

Come on folks, opinions??? We, as a collectively list, have taken apart and
nitpicked every other text material that FASA-SR has released to us, and for
some reason this piece of work is generated trivial volumes of information.
It is obvious to me that Dave and his closer associates (they know whom they
are) put in a lot of work, and a lot material. Can't we give them the respect
of Reviews (good/bad/otherwise)???

Has anyone else found the stuff on the Screamsheet Site to be entirely
unprintable? I'm using Netscape 4.5, and even though I've got it set
up to not print the background color, it's still printing the black
backgrounds of the tables. Am I the only one having this problem?

<SNIP problems printing>
I just went into netscape, preferences, told it to always use
my colors, set the background to white, writing to black, and
its print fine. Just remember to change it back afterwards.

There are problems with it due to the color scheme that Dave has selected for
his material. It's similar problems to what we have with the HHH pages.
We've selected black backgrounds, white text. Most printers only snag the
"white" text, which to a printer means not to print anything in that space.
Background colors are simply ignored.

Table formats are an entirely different matter...
