Ahh, I remember our first game... we were fighting some baddies in a
subway station. As I remember, our elf was playing duck-and-shoot with
a guy in some armor (like an armored jacket or something)--oh, the elf,
Nexus, was using an SMG-- and I think the guy had been hit by something
like 31 rounds, between Nexus and our decker's light pistol. Granted,
a large part of the shots were embedded in the armor...
Tom, remember how pissed Erin was getting? She just started chanting
"Die die die" until he finally got taken down.

Yep. In a game last year, a mage on our team tried to Hellblast a woman
who was getting on our nerves (read: kicking our butts, and we were
running out of ideas). How was he to know that the bonfire she was standing
in was really just the manifestation of a protection spell? Well, anyway,
the Hellblast burst on contact with the protection field, and that was
about six meters closer than our mage was aiming, placing him and my
character squarely in the blast. Not fun--but we lived. (Got healed, that's
why... seems a snake-toting fanatic had taken a liking to us. :) )

As a comment on the Munchkin wars, I just want to offer my own thought on
its definition. I tend to think of a munchkin as being part-Power Gamer
and part-Looney. To use an example from **&*, a Power gamer would be
using +10 plate armor that he had gotten/made due to creative (but
correct) use of, say, a wish spell. The munchkin is the guy who's
character janders around in +44 plate and carries a +17 longsword
with various and sundry powers. (This example is taken from a friend I
had back in elementary school. Yes, his character had this stuff.
Happily, I never actually _played_ with him; he told me about this,
and showed me the character sheet. And no, he didn't have a thoughtful
reason for why he had it. Something about a few thousand gold in donation
to a god... :P )
Of course, then there's the Looney, with the character running around in
cardboard armor...
"Hey, it's real cheap! And when it get's dirty, you just chuck it and
get another set!" :)
