Hi Everyone,

Lars' question about the mysterious novel got me thinking about some
apparent gaps in FASA's SR product line up.

It would appear that product 7218, which lies between 7217 (Target: Awakened
Lands) and 7219 (Target: Matrix) does not exist. Does anyone know what
is/was supposed to be there?

Also, 7321, between 7320 (Harlequin's Back) and 7322 (Super Tuesday) never
seems to have made the light of day. This one's quite old, and I am quite
sure that nothing lies there. Was this a cancelled product or some such
thing?

I got these off FASA's web site after some SERIOUS digging... looks
like they just got lost in the shuffle somewhere. Looks like the SR
universe was set to take a very strange turn... maybe this explains
some things.

Oh boy. Runners on Spring Break. That's a recipe for wacky fun, if I ever
heard of one. ;)

But you _really_ have to be kidding about these two, right? Or are these two
like the retarded cousins that FASA keeps in the closet?

Anyone know if the rights to "Year of the Comet" passed to WizKids? I was
really looking forward to this product. and the Spce book, as cheesy as it
sounds, might allow for some interesting runs a la "Neuromancer." I hope
the new owners retain the writer to finish at least "Year of the Comet" or,
if not, FASA release what they have on line like they did with the book
"Dragons" for ED.

As far as I'm told 7321 was supposed to be "Running Short", which was announced
in the 1993 promotional flyer:
Only have a gamemaster and a player or two but you really just gotta play Shadowrun? This
is the book for you! Running Short is packed with six short one-night adventures,
specially designed for one or two shadowrunners. They're the perfect solution for those
nights when everybody can't get together.

Perhaps Year of the Comet, Sixthworld.org or Threats 2 was allocated this
number?

IIRC, this was supposed to be Running Short, which was announced in 1993
but never materialized until it was finally cancelled around '95 or so.

Ah yes, Carl Sargent's pet project, and the first book Mike cancelled when
he took over as DLoH :)

Well, I was talked to Jordie over a smoothie the other day (we'd
just gotten back from the gym, y'see) and he persuaded me that they'd
be going ahead with the Target: Space book just as quick as
possible... when I mentioned the cheese factor inherent in such space
opera and how that might not go over well with die-hard SR fans, he
said, "What? Oh, the aliens... well don't worry, they're not really
aliens... it's all the Immortal Elves again. But don't tell anyone."
And I did, but I don't think that'll bother him. We're tight, you
see. Like this <crosses fingers>.

Considering when YotC was originally due out, it's probably that.

As opposed to Running Shorties; the guide to roleplaying dwarf's.

I'm disappointed that they never did Running Short, since occasioanly
that situation comes up, but, I'd probably not use it. I've still got at
least 3 more Call of Cthulhu adventures, plus I might works some
shadowrun's into my Shadowrun game sometime in here :-)
