I'd give the target a Dodge Test to resist the spell (TN = Force), with their
successes reducing the caster's.

I consider the additional armor to add directly to the spirit's Immunity
bonus (i.e., additional points of hardened armor). I'd allow the Reach bonus
to be bought more than once, but no more than Reach +2, IMHO.

Let me change the question ... A mage summons a Great Form, gives it 2
points of Armor. The Great Form is attacked by a mage with a weapon
foci. Does the Armor help resist the damage? IOW, does it only apply
against "normal" weapons?

Okay, this is indeed a different question. IMO, and I'm not sure about this
one to be honest, the "Armor" that is granted by this change would indeed yes
work just as normal armor would. The granted armor is much different.
