Here's something from a while back, updated for M&M.
You can check it out the original thread for yourself, if you want. The
thread is "Mo' bettah Cyberdoodads" and starts in logfile
ShadowRN.Log9804D.

Okay. Here is an earlier post I made reformated using Gurth's
suggestions (thanks, oh great Guru) followed by some additional modifiers
and some gear (sorta). Enjoy :) (Make sure you've got your mailer set
to a fixed with font liked Fixedsys or the tables will look funny.)

Cyberlimbs in Shadowrun don't work properly, in my opinion. If you have a
high natural strength, and want to match it with a cyberlimb, you may
wind up paying Essence due to reinfocement of the body to handle a
strength rating -it already has!-. However, a character with low natural
strength doesn't have to worry about Essence costs because Essence costs
are based off the increase over the cyberlimb's strength. The same is
true for Quickness enhancements.

Possible Solution:
Base Costs
Cost
Cyberpart Obvious Synthetic
Limb: 58k 76k
Hand/Foot: 15k 17k
Forearm/Lowerleg: 30k 35k
Torso: 65k 82k
Skull: 35k 55k
Base stats are 0 (Cyberskull does not have own Strength/Quickness Rating,
but Torso does.)
Cost for Stats (costs are listed Obvious/Synthetic):
For these puposes, "natural" refers to attribute value of rest of body.

Cost per point of
Cyberpart Strength Quickness
Limb:
Up to Natural* 2.5k/3.75k 1.5k/2.25k
up to Natural*+1 50k/75k 30k/45k
Additional Mods 75k/113k 45k/67.5k
Hand/Foot:
Up to Natural* 850/1.3k 400/700
up to Natural*+1 14k/21k 8k/12k
Additional Mods 20k/30k 12k/18k
Forearm/Lowerleg:
Up to Natural* 1.7k/2.55k 800/1.2k
up to Natural*+1 28k/42k 16k/24k
Additional Mods 40k/60k 24k/36k
Torso:
Up to Natural* 4k/6k 2.25k/3.5k
up to Natural*+1 63k/94.5k 36k/54k
Additional Mods 90k/135k 54k/81k

Each Stat cannot exceed the higher of(The lower of current stat* x2 or
current stat* +4) or (Body** +4). whichever is lower. A cyber body part
doesn't cost extra essence until a cyberstat exceeds the chars natural
stat* +1, then the cost is as follows:

Essence Cost For
Cyberpart Stregth Quickness
Limb: .4 .3
Hand/Foot: .15 .1
Forearm/Lowerleg: .25 .2
Torso: .3 .23
A cybertorso still halves essence costs of stat mods (which is already
figured into the calculations for modifications to a Cyber Torso).
Cybertorsos remove the limit on the maximum attribute acheivable in a
cyberlimb. If a character has 4 full cyberlimbs, a cybertorso, AND a
cyberskull, attribute enhancements do not cost Essence (Merry Christmas).

Armor costs per point
Cyberpart Soft Hard
Limb: 10k 25k
Hand/Foot: 4.5k 11.5k
Forearm/Lowerleg: 7k 17.5k
Torso: 12k 30k
Skull: 7.5k 19k

Max armor rating is the body of the person in question (this was
arbitrailerly (sp?) chosen, so if doesn't make sense, that's why.)
Synthetic limbs cannot have a stat which exceeds Natural* stat + 1 and
cannot have more than 3 pts of soft armor and NO hardened armor. On
average, this should result in more expensive
cyberlimbs.

Oversized limbs: +50% ECU, +50% Essence Cost.

Out of laziness (on my part), attribute enhancements do not use up ECU
until they exceed the natural stat (note the lack of an '*'). At which
they point they follow the rules in M&M (substituting "Upto Natural
Attribute* +1" for "Each point upto 3" and "Additional Mods" for
"Each
point over 3")

Notes:
*Unaugmented stat except add full bonus from physad abilities if
possessed, and any modifications from Bio/cyberware plus body bonus from
Bone Lacing if possessed.

**use natural body except add full bonus from physad abilities if
possessed and from Bone Lacing.

Tell me what you think ... does this sound like a good system or will it
restrict Cyberlimbs too much / too little? I was happier with the
original post (available on [PRIVATE] request), so the numbers need some
tweaking. Especially, IMO, the costs for Strength/Quickness before the
"natural" is exceeded. Help me fix this system, if you think it has
potential.

I don't really want to comment before I pour over it and maybe playtest,
but it definately close enough to finished that I have saved the message.

I was back reading some post I had not gotten to and came across this.
I see I am not the first one to have this idea. The system is more
complex than my simple idea but at least it is a move toward
addressing the problem. D. Ghost said it better than I did anyway.
