Ok I decided to get some info off the web for you and anyone else that
might want a school bus in one of their campaigns. Here goes...

*Cummins diesel engine: 5.9-liter, 190-hp turbocharged model.
*Allison transmission: AT-545 model with four forward speeds, one reverse
(RE model requires optional MT-643 on 277" wheelbase).
*Custom-built chassis frame: One-piece, full-depth dual "C" channels
bumper to bumper, with 50,000 psi steel frame rails.
*Heavy-duty axles: FE: 12,000 lb. front, 17,000 lb. rear capacity (237"
wheelbase requires optional 19,000 lb. rear axle); RE: 12,000 lb. front,
19,000 lb. rear capacity (277" wheelbase requires optional 21,000 lb. rear
axle).
*Hydraulic brake system: Hydraulic over hydraulic disc with independent
front & rear operation.
*Steering column: Tilt steering column, 2-spoke steering wheel with
full-time power steering--gear driven hydraulic pump and TAS-65 power
steering gear box.
*12-volt alternator and battery: 130-amp alternator with one 4D, 12-volt
battery.
*60-gallon fuel system: Aluminized steel safety tank, right-side mounted
with barrier.
*Bridgestone tires: 10R 22.5G ply tubeless, R-187 on front & rear.
*Cast iron spoke wheels: Single front, dual rear 22.5 x 7.5 rims.
*Dual two-speed windshield wipers: Single-switch electric model with hard
plastic one gallon capacity reservoir.

This might be more than you need. If you want more..like the enterior and
exterior specs you can go to this site: http://www.blue-bird.com and there
are all kinds of busses on their page.

Ok, I may just be being thick here (I am sure you'll all let me know if I
am! ;-D) but won't the school buses in 2060 be totaly different than todays?

Following on from other shadowrun material I would doubt if they were
"petrochem" based, but would probibly run off the grid. I'd also imagine
that the route etc is preprogramed and rather than have a driver (the on
board computer would do that) it would probibly have a supervisor (mainly
to look after the children) but there would be manual override controls of
some kind.

I guess what I am getting at is that you should be able to develop a bus
that suits your runs requirements, using up to date (in SR terms) tech, by
adjusting stats from one of the shadowrun books.

Unless of course you want it to be an "old" bus, in which case ignore the
above.

Let's not forget what type of neighborhoods they'd have to go
through. They'll need a way to gurantee protection - know what I
mean? Hehehehehehehehehehehe . . .

Never mind the neighbourhoods! If I was the driver I'd want protection from
the passengers. :)

Yep. According to SR automotive engineering science they'd be slower
and have poorer gas mileage ;)

Irrelivant ... the school systems would be using the same buses ... you'd
have more duct tape and coat hangers showing ...
