You mean all GM's DON'T hide the intitiative dice?? Of course, NPC's
shoiuldn't know when PC's are acting...
>(this gets particularly cool when

The delayer cant act again till 7, because he acted in 17- the rules for
delayed actions say so. Theyare still an EXCELLENT thing to use,
leading to battles of nerves where both sides tey to out-delay the
other.
The only gripe is, why does the delayer always go first? WhatifBOTH
sides delay- I popo us after delaying, but youv'e delayed to shoot me?
Similar situations arrise often using FOF's delay + move rule.

Tell me about it. It can grind even the fastest samurai to a dead halt,
practically.

Well, smart players will have some team memebrs delaying as well (its
called bounding overwatch- you delay while your partner advances- or you
both use "moving delays" from FOF).
Surving a SR gunfight 101: Standard procedure when nobody is in sight is
to delay. When you DO shoot, you IMMEDIATLY pull back behind cover.

Hell, riding a motrocycle late at night, you can get pulled over more
than that- 1 in 36 is more like it. Of course, 90% of the time they
only care if your drunk or look like a bike theif. Maybe a paper check,
no search- just act real polite and sober, like you ENJOY stopping.
Might change in SR, though. Especailly with racist cops of any stripe.
