Subject: More on Nega-Mages

I just sent my first post on nega-mages realizing I had a couple
of points to clarify before continuing, so I skimmed the article
(thanx Dr. Doom) and I don't recall anything being in there about
Bioware affecting the nega-mage ability. I assume that bioware
affects his Magic score the same way it affects regular mages, meaning
that he could lose his powers on things like synaptic accelerators
and adrenal pumps (which makes sense from a balance standpoint and a
background standpoint: Bioware is not of the nega-mage's body and thus
may disrupt the "naturally-produced" field, following the same logic
as bioware hurting Mage's powers.
I got so entranced by my Nega-Mage question & theory typing that
I neglected my other questions. Here are some more:

2-I love the fact that you guys are putting together VCC rules-I'd
love to help, but I rather doubt I'll have time to contribute seriously to
The Project. In the meantime, I really recommend Haydn's parting post:
Stay Focused and don't let it become your life. Handle it one step at a time.
Here's a quick list of what to tackle (maybe even in this order):
1: Body-the entire gamut, with definitions of what each
size level covers.
2: Power-Do powered weapon systems use their own or can they
draw off of vehicle power? ICE, 'lectric, Hydrogen cells. . .
3: Stuff: Weapons, toys, Mr Fusion. . .Steal blatantly
from Car Wars, the RBB, and Popular Mechanics.
4: Tires: Do they affect the weight or not? This has always
bugged me in Car Wars: the perfect car but the tires weighed
more than the engine. . .
That's all on VCC for now.

3-Cybernetic Brand Names-I am beyond impressed by your organization
and attention to detail-maybe you should organize whatever results from
the VCC committee. Where do yoy find the time. One thing, though-The effects
on Essence are mostly negligible, except for big-ticket items like Wired-3.
Personally, I would have just put in price mods and played it out-some parts
are lying in the gutter, while others need to be ordered from some obscure
supplier in Tibet. But I'm still impressed.

4-A new one: has anyone else had trouble with their TAB key? Every
time I press it, I get this: ATDT7563775
I'm coping with it.

5-Final note of Negas (I just popped out to check 2 messages, and lo &
behold there was another message against them). Yes, it stands to reason that
fire, whether created magically or not, will burn a nega mage. You may have to
take it on a spell by spell basis. Unless, of course, magically created
elements are different enough to still be magical (and thus negated). You know,
like the difference between an apple and an apple's essence, a la
transubstantiation (I'll get the toilet paper now). . .
As for priorities, treat it like an Adept-#3 for humans, #2 for
Metahumans. I wouldn't force a PC to roll for magic loss before
starting play. But don't allow him to start with more than 1 or maybe .75
ssence of Cyber/bioware-Cyber-Nega-Mage is about as scary as Initiate
Vampire Troll Adept (A villain's henchman I was contemplating).

Fare thee well, fare thee well, fare thee well my fairy fey

J. Roberson (I finally found myself)
